Adult plague thrips are slender, about 1 mm long and brown with two pairs of narrow, fringed wings

The nymphs are smaller, yellow/orange-yellow and wingless
Symptoms

Adults and nymphs feed on the stems, flower petals, and pollen
Damage

They do not affect pollination, pod set or pod fill, but some pods may be distorted
-
Yield penalty does not result from plague thrip infestation
Control
Control of plague thrip in canola is not warranted.
