Downy Mildew

Description

• Uncommon in wheat crops
• Sometimes seen in small outbreaks during waterlogging and green bridge

Symptoms

• Yellow leaves, stunted and excessive tillering in young plants
• Advanced plants with misshapen leaves and heads. Often thickened and twisted leaves

Damage

• Unlikley to have significant yield impact.

Control

Treatment not warranted. Control of green bridge grass weeds and volunteer cereals will act as a sound prevention approach near paddock boundaries
