Ring spot is a foliar fungal disease of cereals and most grass species

It is normally distributed fairly evenly through the crop
Symptoms
-
Scattered, yellow leaves across paddock.
-
Leaves have small brown spots 1-4 mm with dark brown rims and pale brown centres.
-
Spiky fungal structures are produced from previously infected grass seeds
Damage
-
Yield penalty is very minor, often no yield loss occurs
Control
-
Fungicide treatment is rarely required.
-
Control grass weeds, particularly brome and barley grass, in the year before sowing cereals
-
Avoid successive cereal crops
