Beet Western Yellows virus, Cauliflower Mosaic virus and Turnip Mosaic virus

There are three viruses that infect Australian canola

  • Beet western yellows virus (BWYV)
  • Cauliflower mosaic virus (CaMV)
  • Turnip mosaic virus (TuMV).

These viruses are widespread and surveys have found that in some situations most crops have some infected plants. As with most viruses, yield loss is very hard to measure; therefore, the actual damage to crop production is difficult to determine.
