Symptoms

  • New branches emerge from stressed or dying plants, once the stress has been overcome and conditions are more favourable

  • Late rain after drought conditions may encourage the plant to reflower

Damage

  • This makes decisions around harvesting dates very difficult

  • Yield can be greatly reduced

Management

There are no treatment options. Close observation of the crop to optimise harvest timing, and management of stresses that can be controlled, such as nutrient deficiencies, will help to minimise the risk of re-shot plants.
